On 15th August 2019 PC Andrew Harper was killed by three unrepentent habitual thieves who dragged him at speed down a road for over a mile behind their getaway car. 

Outside of the current matter of the early release of two of the killers, on Saturday 15 August I am leading a commemorative ride to visit his official Police memorial in Reading.

We will leave the Pathfinder Cafe at Blackbushe Airport at 11.30 and ride to Reading where we most likely will encounter other riders and people there on the 7th Anniversary of his death in service.  

Afterwards we shall go on to the Pinewood Bar & Cafe for refreshments.

PS: Nearby is a memorial to Trooper Fred Potts VC (1892–1943) from Reading. He won the Victoria Cross—the highest award for bravery in battle—during World War One. In August 1915 at Gallipoli, wounded himself and after two days trapped in a shell hole by enemy gun fire he used a trench shovel as a sledge to drag his severely wounded friend, Trooper Arthur Andrews, away from enemy fire.
